What are the different types of instruments

There are three types of musicals instruments.They are:

    Wind Instruments
    Percussion Instruments
    String Instruments

A string instrument is an instrument with strings that makes a sound when you pluck it or strum it. An example of a string instrument is the Violin. A wind instrument is an instrument sound is produced when the player blows into the instrument. An example is the trumpet. The percussion instrument is an instrument in which sound is produced by striking it with hands or an object. An example is the drums.

The Electronic Keyboard

The Electronic Keyboard, also known as the digital keyboard or home keyboard is a musical instrument similair to a piano that generates sound through electronic components. They are designed for home users or non professional users. Furthermore, the player is presented with an interface that allows them to choose a voice, which are imitations of other instruments, as well as a variety of other functions, such as the style and tempo.


Common Key Terms Used

    Key- A button you press. The keys are C,D,E,F,G,A,B
    Octave-A set of 8 keys
    Voice-Imitations of other instruments or electronic sounds
    Style-Music that plays in the background while you play the song
    Tempo-The pace of the of the song
    Scales-A short piece of notes grouped together
    Chord-A piece played with just your left hand

Keyboard Vs. Piano

There are some key differences between the piano and the electronic keyboard. An electronic keyboard needs a power source unlike a piano. Piano keys are weighted. The keys on a keyboard are typically lighter than a piano key, making it easier to play. A piano has 7 octaves, while a keyboard only has 4 octaves. A keyboard is easier to carry from place to place than a piano.

Learning to play

To become proficient in playing the Electronic Keyboard, you can book music lessons with Mr. Guru V.K. You get to choose how long your have to be and how often they happen. For example, your sessions might last an hour and they might be thrice a week, or they might last half an hour and they might occur every day, etc. Mr. Guru V.K. offers a variety of services, such as practical knowledge of the keyboard, lessons in playing songs from popular culture, or practice for exams offered by the Trinity College of London.
